Why High-Pressure Nitrogen Assist Matters

When cutting with standard oxygen assist, an oxidized layer forms along the cut edge. For aerospace, defense, and powder-coated parts, this oxide layer creates severe points of adhesion failure: paint chips, and welds suffer porosity.

Fabtron utilizes high-pressure nitrogen assist cutting on our TRUMPF 4000W laser. The inert nitrogen gas shields the molten metal during the cut, leaving a 100% metallic, clean, oxide-free edge that can immediately transition to certified GTAW/GMAW welding or our automated conveyor wash and powder coating line.
